Bellingen  Golf Report 15th December 2012

Wednesdays short course challenge attracted 32 players, with two very good scores recorded. Rolf Homey won with a net 22.4 from Greg Mclagan on 23.0. Thank you to Matt from Coffs city golf centre for supporting this event. Next week, apart from the normal prizes, there will be a ham awarded to the best score of the day, providing that you pay an extra one dollar fee and have your card stamped to indicate this.
Gorgeous conditions greeted the morning players on Saturday, with the heat coming in the afternoon for those players. 47 players contested for trophies supplied by the LITTLE RED KITCHEN. Thank you. John Lavis had the best score in A Grade, with 41 points, to edge out Phil Lynch on 40(on a c/b). Ray Bell, in B Grade, posted his maiden win with 41 points, from Mark Parsons on 38. Balls went to 37 points and included J.Taylor, M.Tate, M.Jenkins, H.Piper, P.Tyson, M.Edsall, T.W.B and M.Brownlee. The nearest the pins went to big Gav, J.Taylor, T.Parker, T.W.B, P.Lawrence and J.Lavis . Thank you to Russell, the greens are looking terriffic,so players would you mind repairing your pitch marks and generally looking after the course. Groups are to be mindful of slow play, and their place in the field. If you lag behind the group in front of you by a hole or more, it is good etiquette to call the following group through. Next week is a 2 ball Stableford sponsored by CASELLA WINES.The last Saturday of the year, 29
12 12, will be the president's day, with six hams to be awarded to the winners and runners up in three grades. This is a stroke event, and will also decide the medal  of medal winner for 2012. Please give thoughts to joining the match committee which begins again in the new year.... Happy golfing, and have a safe Christmas and New YearSmithy.
