Bellingen Golf Report 13th March 2017
Wednesday 8th - another limited field for this week's Chook Run, but an amazing top score of 27 gave the prize to M Summerill over R/U R Williams on 22. P Ireland got the NTP. In the afternoon There was a good field of 24 for the Short Course. The Ridgewells showed up in force and dominated the scoresheet, Ian winning with 23.7 over Geoff on 26.6. The Target holes were taken by N Jenkins and Stella Wilson, who smashed the Sheoak target with a Hole-in-One! Have you considered joining the Ladies' team...?
Thursday 9th - overcast and cool weather greeted 12 players for the Morning Medley. The scores were not high but were fiercely contested, with the top 7 players separated by just one point! Robbie Farrar was the victor with 15 on a C/B from Vilma Neill. The NTPs were taken by Kerry Shearer and Ruth Hall. Next week we will hit off at 8.30am. In the afternoon 13 Seniors took to the course for the 12 hole Stableford. S McCabe was the victor with 25 points and R/U was B Parsons on a C/B with 23. Balls went to 20 and included J Lavis, K Lloyd, T Cuthel and R Bruce. NTPs were taken by M Rose, R Hickson and S McCabe.
Saturday 11th - the Monthly Medal kindly sponsored by Spider and Stocko. Good to see a better field of 45 playing in the autumn sunshine. New member Steve Carr won 'A' Grade and the Mug with a nett 67 (74), and also won the putting contest with a fine 24. R/U was C Osland on 70. 'B' Grade went to J Kyle with 71 over C Hoskins on 72 on a C/B. The gross winner was T Brown with 90. 'C' Grade was won by T Cleary with 70 over R Hickson on 72, who also had the best gross of 97. NTPs went to J Taylor (2), M Gray, C Hoskins, P Lazarus and A Perrin. Balls went to nett 74 and included S Hulbert, G Jones, T Cuthel, T Brown, C Smith and T Parker.
