More realistic scores won on Wednesday, with Barney Woodward and Ted Callander winning chooks with 20 and 19 points respectively. Wednesday afternoon saw playing partners,Kieth Caesar(24.6), and Rowan Hickson(26.0c/b),running first and second in the short course challenge,(hmmm),with Peter Szaif,also on 26.0. The target holes went to Paul Carter and Geoff Ridgewell.
Cool weather and a well presented golf course, encouraged good scores on Saturday's monthly medal, sponsored by Yamaha. Merv Brownlee had a field day, winning the mug, the gross and the putts with 87/67/25.R/up was Jamie Burley, also on 67.A Grade went to Glenn Jones with 68, from Tony Brown on 69. The gross went to J.Taylor with 77.C Grade went to Doug Lowe with a 93/67, from Ross Williams on 68.JT Took out two NTP's, with the others going to S.Hulbert, Kiwi, G.Jones and C.Tees.Other ball winners included R.Begonia, C.O'Connor, P.Carter, C.Blyth and Oz. Bruce Baigent picked up the Valley quality meats raffle for the second time in 3 weeks. Next week's event is a 2 ball Stableford ,sponsored by Nick from Valley tree services.Cheers....Smithy.
