Wednesday's  short-course challenge, sponsored by Coffs city golf centre attracted 26 players.Toby Cuthel was sitting in the clubhouse grinning after recording a net 22.7.Alas!,Brad Nesbitt came in later with a net 19.2, and playing partner Michael Becker recorded a 22.6, which pipped Toby completely.T1 went to Brad, and T2 went to the Heff.Saturday's monthly medal sponsored by Craig Blyth and  Dave Barrow attracted a fantastic field of 61 players.You had to play to your handicap to get a ball and some great scores were recorded.Best on the day, returning to form, was Scott Hulbert  with a 73/63 to take the
À grade medal and the mug.Runner up with 67 was Graham O'Connor on a c/b. Merv Brownlee had a top day, carding an 83/64 to pip Kieth Biddiss on 65 for the B grade medal.C Grade went to Terry Cleary with 69 from Hank Piper with a 94/70.Balls were won by N.Jenkins, TWB, A.Guthrie, C.Sharman, L.Howes,T.Parker, Bruce Baigent, P.Carter, Bob Stockton, and J.Schilter.Today's event was also the decider for the 2014 medal of medals and mug of mugs.The winners respectively, were, Chris Shaman and Paul Carter.Congrats!There were smiles and head shakes in the club, as some of the single matchplays were decided.The NTP's went to Bruce.Kearsley,N.Jenkins, C.Blyth, B.Nesbitt and Mick Raymond scored the GB hole.Thanks very much to the blokes who are doing some voluntary work on the course tidying things up.Next week's event is a two ball Stableford , sponsored by IN THE ROUGH bistro and is also the qualifying round for the NOLAN fourball match play (top 16 pairs to qualify).The Big event coming up soon is the Matthew Locke charity day on Friday the 27th Feb. which is a three person Ambrose. The sheet to book is in the foyer drawer.Please look after the course and keep carts well away from the greens. Cheers Smithy.
