Bellingen golf report 19th January 2015

Round 14 of the short-course challenge sponsored by Coffs city golf centre attracted 32 starters. Ian Ridgewell pipped Brad Giffen  by point one of a shot ,21.8 to 21.9 respectively. Third place went to J Kyle with 23.0.T1 went to D.Saddler and J. Wells scored T2. Saturday's monthly medal, sponsored by The WANDERERS  attracted 38 starters, with the A graders having the better scores. Greg Hawke medalled and mugged  with a net 68, from Col Osland on 67.The Gross went to J.Taylor with 73.B Grade went to Morrie Tate with an 89/72 from returning handicap golfer John Shilter on 73.C Grade went to H Piper with a 94/69, from Bruce Parsons on 71.The ball run went to 71 on account back and included D.Mayo, G.O'Connor,N.Jenkins, J.Lavis and W.Knight.The NTP's went to C.Warman, G.Jones(2),J.Taylor, Nick Jenkins and Dave Mayo scored the GB hole.Because of the holidays and long weekends, January has become a very disrupted month for golf ,therefore some changes have been made.Next week's game is a single Stableford sponsored by Coffs Motor World. The following Saturday will be the Courier Sun match play qualifying event with 32 players to qualify. The medal of medals has been put back to its old slot in February i.e. Saturday the 14th.My apologies for the changes. The golf course needs a helping hand.If you can spare some time and can grab a mate or 2, a couple of jobs need some attention e.g.whipper snipping around the dam, the raking of bunkers towards the end of the week, and weeding and mulching of the top garden near the practice nets.Any help in these matters would be greatly appreciated. Please keep looking after the course and driving cars responsibly...
cheers
Smithy.
