Bellingen vets opening-day day was held on Wednesday with a reasonable field of 51 players in attendance, with most visitors coming from Dorrigo.Thank you.The A grade winner was P Gordon on 41 points from B. Woodward,40, and Ken Lloyd,38. B grade was taken out by Col McLellan on 38 on account back, from Bruce Tait, and second r/up was Rod Bruce 36. The ladies winner was Maggie Oliver on 35 from Maryanne Perry, 34 and Kerry Shearer,30.M.A.Perry and G.Davies took the long drives.The NTP's went to R.Bruce(2),R.Williams(2),K.Shearer and P.Gordon.No player went home empty-handed and lucky Boris won the television and P.Ireland, the meat raffle.Well done to all concerned.Not enough players attended the short course on Wed.arvo to constitute a competition so it reverted to a ball comp.R. Sutton had a blinder to record a net 20.2 to collect two balls and the T2.G.Ridgewell scored T1.A fairly small field of 38 played in a single Stableford sponsored by Rick Carr on Saturday. Mick Raymond won A grade 42 points from Morrie Tate on 41. Bruce Baigent found form to record 41 points to relegate Col McLellan to only second with 39.Balls went to 37 points on a C/B and included GO Connor, Oz, S McCabe, G.Hawke, C.Hoskins and R.Homey.The NTP's went to M.Bekker,Kiwi,J.Lavis,C.Samuels and M.Raymond scored the GB hole.Don't Forget that it is free golf on Sundays for members and very reduced rates for visitors.Also, on Friday, 31 October there is a three person Ambrose to raise money for leukaemia research over nine holes, teeing off at 4:30 sharp.$20= golf, drink and nibbles afterwards.
