You had to play well and have a good handicap to win a chook on Wednesday, and Colin Baird had both, to record 25 points. The other winner was Barney Woodward on 21.Another good field turned up for Wednesday afternoons short-course challenge, sponsored by Coffs city golf centre. Geoff Ridgewell was the best on the day recording a net 25, to pip Rod Sutton on 25.6 and Craig Warman on 25.8. The target holes went to Rob Begonia out and Stan McCabe. Saturdays field was a bit disappointing, with only 37 players for a single Stableford, sponsored by Nev Osborn. Tony Parker was in good form to record 39 points to edge out Bruce Baigent on 38,in A grade.Morning playing partners, Mike Edsall and John Kyle had a blinder,n with John recording 46 points and Mike 41.Balls went to 37 points on a C/B and included T.Cuthel, J.Lavis, C.Hoskins, Kiwi and Roz Hemsley.NTP's went to W.Knight, G.Hawke, J.Kyle and Tony Brown took great delight winning the 15th and 16th.The thank you day for sponsors and volunteers is on next Sunday.
