All competitions are under the control of the Golf Committee,
which reserves the right to change any date, cancel or vary any
competition.
On days when competitions are arranged by the Golf Committee, all
MEMBERS and VISITORS not taking part in the competition MUST pay
green fees and give way to all competition players when on the
course.
The Bellingen Golf Club uses a Tier 3 Golf Link system provider.
All Handicap Golf Members (AGU and WGU) must have a current Golf
Link handicap number. New members must apply for a number through
the Clubs Handicapper or provide a current number.
All members must nominate their home club for handicap purposes.
All results of competitions are down loaded to Golf Link.
Handicaps are calculated accordingly.
No player will receive an increase in handicap unless they play
regularly.
In order to assist the handicapper. All cards should be returned
by each member for rounds played, particularly at other clubs.
In most cases, a members handicap may be reduced on nine hole
cards and four balls.
Members are requested to exercise due care in compiling score
cards and thus make the assessors task less onerous.
Members may not practice on the course proper prior to a competition. (Practice areas are available).
For the purpose of this Club, the Match Committee has defined
that there must be a minimum of 15 players before a normal
competition can take place.
When there are fewer than 15 competitors, such an event shall
revert to a chicken or ball competition, when the value of the
prizes distributed shall not exceed the total of the nomination
fees.
A runner-up trophy will apply if the field exceeds 40 in a single
event. In a four-ball event runner-up trophy will apply where the
field exceeds 25 pairs.
All members should be sufficiently advanced in the knowledge of
the Rules of Golf to be competent to perform the duty of the marker
for a fellow competitor.
Hole in One, Eagles Nest and Jackpot apply to Members only
Dress for Men and Ladies must be of clean, neat and tidy
appearance at all times and when playing golf appropriate golfing
attire must be worn.
Footwear: Shoes and long or sports socks with dress shorts.
Shirts - Collared shirt must be worn for all competitions.
Ladies - Skirts & tops (with collar), slacks, tailored shorts
(medium length).
Individual, Stroke, Par and Stableford will be played off full
handicap.
Foursomes will be played off half the combined handicap.
Reduce lowest marker to scratch. Reduce other three players by
the same number of strokes.
Strokes to be taken in accordance with match play index.
Stroke - Members and Associates - Full handicap.
Members and Associates - Full handicap.
All individual stroke rounds are Vardon events. The round begins
in November and concludes in October. Event will be played as an
individual net. At least 10 rounds must be played to qualify. Open
to members only.
Are determined over four rounds of stroke play. Players are
divided into three grades according to current handicap at the
commencement of the first round as follows:
0-12 A Grade; 13-19 B Grade; 20-32 C Grade.
In each grade, ties for best 72 hole gross score shall be
determined by a sudden death play off over the sixteenth, eighth and
eighteenth holes.
All other ties shall be determined by a comparison of cards as
follows: best last nine holes; best last six holes; best last three
holes; then hole by hole counting back from the last hole to the
first until a result is achieved.
Where net scores are being compared, players will be granted
handicap strokes in the same proportion to their full handicap as
the number of holes being considered bears to 18, regardless of
whether this yields a whole number, except that where the comparison
becomes hole by hole, handicap strokes shall be applied according to
the stroke index.
Where weather or other circumstances render the course
unplayable, the Committee may reduce the number of rounds or
reschedule one or more rounds.

round being eighteen holes and the second being nine holes. Both
rounds are played on the same day.

Handicap to be applied shall be - Two person - one quarter of
combined total; Three person - one sixth of combined total; Four
person - one eighth of combined total.
Through the green the selected ball shall be marked and may be
lifted. Each player shall place a ball within one club length of the
place where the selected ball lay but not nearer the hole, and play.
If the selected ball lay in the rough, all players shall play
from the rough.
Order of play should be from highest marker to lowest marker,
however the order may be changed to save time, such as when a higher
marker is retrieving a ball from some distance away, and a lower
marker is ready to play.
In a hazard, the selected ball shall be played as it lies, and
other players shall drop as nearly as possible to the point where
the selected ball lay but not nearer the hole and play. A bunker may
not be smoothed between strokes.
On the putting green the selected ball shall be marked and may be
lifted. Each player shall place a ball within one card length of the
place where the selected ball lay but not nearer the hole, and play.
Gardens: Formed garden beds may be treated as G.U.R.
Any member nominating to play in any matchplay competition, including Club Championships must be prepared to fulfill his commitments for the duration of the competition. A member failing to play, as set down in the conditions of play, will be automatically ineligible to participate in any matchplay for a period of twelve months.
Any competitor desiring to enter a protest in connection with a
match or competition shall do so in writing, addressed to the
Captain and shall deposit same in the box with the cards of play.
The Captain, upon receipt of such protest, will convene at the
earliest possible opportunity, a meeting of the Match Committee,
which shall consider such protest and whose decision will be final.
Protests must be entered immediately on completion of the match or
competition.
