Wednesday 12th – a tiny field of 6 for the Chook Run and again it fell to Bruce Mitchell to take the honours – 19 points for the win and the NTP.  In the afternoon there was excitement on the Short Course where Ruth Hall scored another hole-in-one on the first (Ladies’ 7th).  That’s two within a month!  Not enough to secure a win, though – that honour going to Stan McCabe’s fine round of nett 21.9 over R/U Brad Nesbitt on 22.5.  The target holes were claimed by Craig Warman and Greg Kenny.
Thursday 13th – thirteen players for this week’s 9 hole Medley and the winner was Kerry Shearer with 21 points, Marg Girdwood the runner-up with 20 on a C/B.  Marg also won an NTP, the other going to Greg Hawke. Later in the day the Seniors fielded 12 players for their Stableford over 12 holes.  Stan McCabe was the victor with 28 points on a C/B over R/U Dennis Lyon.  Balls went to Bruce Tait, Graeme O’Connor and Warwick Knight.  NTPs fell to Toby Cuthel, Jim Ginis and Graeme O’Connor.
Saturday 15th – Valley Tree Services were the kind sponsors of the Saturday comp, laying on a 2 BBB Stableford.  The winning team was a morning pair of relative newcomers to the club – well done Craig Malt and Craig McMahon with a fine 53 over R/U team Peter Szaif and Rolf Homey with a combined 49.  NTPs went to Craig McMahon, Tony Bolsdon, Matt Clarke, Graeme O’Connor, Stan McCabe and Doug Lowe.  You needed an individual 38 points to win a ball, they included Col Osland, Tony Brown, Dennis Lyon, Toby Cuthel, Glenn Jones, John Lavis and Stan McCabe.
Captain’s Log – next week it’s the annual Captain vs. President day, sponsored by the Club. Sign up now for the last comp before Christmas.  Your membership renewal reminders should be in the post (please make sure your address details are correct with the office) and watch out for the option to upgrade your full Golf Membership to include free social rounds/practice – on offer shortly. There will be some tree removal work going on over the festive holiday season, please let me know if you can volunteer some help to tidy up the course.
